PAX Services
If you already have a relationship with a non-Stripe payment processor, Selflane POS supports in-person payments through a PAX terminal. The PAX terminal connects to your existing processor; Selflane handles the order side, your processor handles the funds.
For most new businesses, Stripe Terminal is simpler — single onboarding, flat-rate pricing, no separate processor contract. PAX is the right choice when you have committed processor pricing or specific accounting requirements that Stripe doesn’t fit.
Supported Processors
Selflane integrates with most major U.S. payment processors that issue PAX terminals — including Heartland, Worldpay, and TSYS. The full list depends on the processor’s PAX integration. Contact us to confirm support for a specific processor before signing a contract.
Equipment
PAX terminals are issued by your processor, not by Selflane. Common models:
- PAX A920 — handheld Android terminal, suitable for tableside or counter payments.
- PAX S300 — countertop PIN-pad terminal, tethered to the iPad over the local network.
The processor configures the terminal before shipping it to you.
Setup Order
- Choose a processor. Sign your processor agreement before ordering Selflane POS hardware.
- Receive the PAX terminal from the processor with their build applied.
- Plug the terminal into the same network as the Selflane POS iPad.
- Contact Selflane to register the terminal under your business and pair it with your iPads.
Reconciliation
PAX transactions and batches appear in Back Office under Transactions. Close batches manually at the end of each day so the POS records match what your processor deposits.
