Tiered Delivery Discounts

Delivery discounts encourage larger orders: once the food total reaches a threshold, the customer pays less for delivery. You can add up to 2 tiers. They work with either Self Delivery or Third-Party Delivery.

The Tiered Delivery Discounts card only appears once self delivery is enabled or courier delivery is connected.

How tiers work

Each tier has two values:

• Threshold — the menu-item total that unlocks the discount, before tax and tip. Enter a whole-dollar amount from $0 to $100.
• Discount — the amount taken off the delivery fee, from $1 to $20.

The order gets the highest tier it reaches. The discount never exceeds the delivery fee, so delivery can drop to $0 but not below.

An order at or above a threshold gets that tier. In this example, a $30 or $35 order gets $2 off the delivery fee, and a $55 order gets $5 off. A $25 order pays the full fee.

Tier 2 must have a higher threshold and a higher discount than Tier 1. Otherwise, saving shows an error.

Who pays for the discount

Your business pays for the discount. With self delivery, it reduces the fee you collect. With courier delivery, Selflane still pays the courier the full price, so the discount comes off your payout.

Tiers apply to delivery orders customers place online. They don’t apply to courier orders created on the POS, or when staff convert a Pick Up order to courier delivery there.

Set up tiers

1. In the Back Office, go to Settings > Profile > Delivery .
2. On the Tiered Delivery Discounts card, click Add Tier. A new tier starts at a $10 threshold with a $1 discount.
3. Enter the Threshold and Discount.
4. To add a second tier, click Add Tier again. The button disappears once you have 2 tiers.
5. Click Save.

To remove a tier, click the trash icon on its card, then click Save.
