Controls & Filtering
The bottom bar provides quick-access controls for filtering and toggling what appears on the order grid.
Bottom Bar Controls
| Control | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Cooked Orders | Toggle | Show only fully cooked orders. Automatically enables Cooked Items when turned on |
| Cooked Items | Toggle | Show ready dishes alongside uncooked ones within each order card |
| Channel Filter | Multi-select | Filter by In-store, Selflane (online), or 3rd Party orders. Leave empty to show all |
| Business Name | Text | Displays the name of the current restaurant |
The bottom bar scrolls horizontally on smaller screens.
Filtering Pipeline
Orders pass through filters in this order:
- Order station — only orders from selected station numbers are shown (configured in Settings)
- Channel — only orders matching selected channels (In-store, Selflane, 3rd Party) are shown
- Print targets — only dishes assigned to selected print targets are kept; orders with no remaining dishes are hidden
- Cooked status — show cooked or uncooked orders based on the toggle
Sort Order
- Uncooked orders — sorted oldest first (ascending by needed time) so the most urgent orders appear first
- Cooked orders — sorted newest first (descending) so the most recently completed orders appear at the top
Real-Time Updates
Auto-Refresh
Orders refresh automatically every 60 seconds to keep the display current.
After any user interaction (selecting a dish, tapping Order Up, or deselecting), there is a 15-second cooldown before the next auto-refresh. This prevents the grid from shifting while you are actively working with orders.
Push Notifications
When a new order is placed, the app receives a push notification and immediately refreshes the order list. This works whether the app is in the foreground, background, or was recently closed.
You can toggle notification sounds on or off in Settings.
Optimistic Updates
When you tap Order Up, the display updates immediately without waiting for the next refresh. This ensures the order card reflects your action right away.
Key Workflows
Marking Dishes as Ready
- View uncooked orders in the grid
- Tap individual dishes to select them, or tap Order Up to mark the entire order
- If marking the entire order, confirm with a second tap (the button turns orange)
- Dishes are marked as ready and the card updates instantly
- Fully cooked orders disappear from the default view (or appear under Cooked Orders)
Monitoring Hold Items
- Dishes with a print hold delay show a green Hold N’ badge
- The badge counts down as the hold period elapses
- Once the hold expires, the badge switches to the normal gray elapsed time
Filtering by Station
- Open Settings and go to Order Stations
- Select the station numbers you want to monitor (e.g., stations 1 and 3)
- Only orders assigned to those stations appear on the grid
- Clear all selections to show orders from all stations
