Create a test business

Use a test business for demonstrations and training without listing it publicly as a restaurant. The test-business option is available to active partner staff and Selflane staff.

Create the demo

  1. Sign in to the Back Office with your partner account.
  2. Open the business switcher and click Create New Business.
  3. Find the business, review its details, and set its opening hours.
  4. On the final step, turn on Create as a test business.
  5. Click Create test business.

Test businesses skip the setup questions. The business dashboard shows that the account is a test business. Use separate demo data so staff can distinguish it from a customer’s operating business.

Prepare a demo for production

  1. Confirm which business record the restaurant will use. Review its name, address, menu, hours, and owner access.
  2. Contact Selflane Support to arrange the change from test standing. Include the business and intended launch date.
  3. Complete any outstanding setup questions, payment setup, plan selection, and POS setup before accepting customer orders.
  4. Confirm with Selflane that the business is ready for live service.

Removing test standing alone does not configure payments or turn online ordering on. Do not treat demo payments or a demo setup as production readiness.
